How to Automate Your Push Notifications For More Traffic?

Staying in touch with your audience is one of the most important parts of digital marketing. If you don’t reach out to them on a regular basis, they either forget about your brand or you may lose sales opportunities. Luckily more and more new ways are created to stay in touch with your target audience. One way to stay in touch is with push notifications.

Sending push notifications is a modern way to send short messages to your subscribers. These messages can contain a link, a photo, and text. The best thing about it is that it can be sent to smartphones and desktop computers simultaneously. As long as the receiver has enabled push notification, for example in Chrome or Firefox, they will see your messages.

And because I like to automate things, and figure out what the possibilities are, I took a look and wrote this article to help you set up your own automations. For this, we are going to use the push notification tool OneSignal. I have used it for a while now and am very happy with it.

It’s easy to set up and works perfectly. So, go to OneSignal, create an account, and set up your push notifications. As you can see, I already did it, and now I have a small red bell button in the bottom left corner of my website.

Setting up Onesignal Journeys

OneSignal has built-in a way to automate your messages. Although you have to upgrade to use this feature. It can help you in many ways to set up some very powerful automations. Here are a few automated journeys that you can create:

Onboarding sequences to guide your users to success

You can set up a Journey that will send new subscribers one or multiple messages over the course of days or weeks. If you know your subscriber is interested in your product, you can keep in touch with him and guide him through a targeted sequence of messages. This will increase the chances of a conversion or whatever other goals of your messages.

Re-engagement campaigns to get your users back

You can use the journey sequences as a way to stay in touch with your audience. It can work similarly to a weekly or monthly newsletter, although the messages are more simple and short. It’s a great way to send targeted messages that will encourage previous users to come back. You could for example, automatically notify your customers about discounts, freebies, giveaways, or new arrivals.

Abandoned cart workflows to drive sales and revenue

If you have an e-commerce shop, nothing is more frustrating than customers adding products to their carts but not proceeding with the sales. You can set up an automation that will, for example after a week or several days, remind your customer that he still has items in his cart left. This will increase your chances of conversions and more chances to re-engage with your audience.

There are more possibilities, and I encourage you to go and try it yourself. You can read the OneSignal documentation for more. Or try it yourself, upgrading to a “Professional” account is required. Prices start at $99/Month. A cheaper way is the second option, read further to find out.

Use Integromat (Make) as an Automation tool

Another way you can automate messages is through the use of a tool like Integromat. You can connect this tool with other apps, like OneSignal, and use it to send automated messages. Here are a few examples of automations that you could set up.

Here are a few examples of what you can do with Integromat.

Send automated push notifications when you publish a new blog post.

You can combine your blog’s RSS feed with OneSignal, and every time you post new blog posts or products, push notifications will be sent to your subscribers. You can set that automation to once per day, or even once per week. Depends on how often you post.

Send push notifications when you add new products.

If you have an online shop, for example, a Shopify store. You can combine Shopify with OneSignal. And automate nearly all aspects of your online shop.

For example, you could send your contacts a message when you add a new product. Or you set up an automation that sends a message to your subscribers every time you create a new discount code. Increasing your chances of conversion and traffic to your store.

The advantage of using Integromat is that you can combine it with many other apps. This gives you more flexibility and possibilities in building advanced automations. And of course, you can do both as well. Setup OneSignal journeys, and combine them with the power of Integromat.

Combine push notifications with Social Media.

You could create an automation that posts to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at the same time. Then send a push notification to all your subscribers and let them know you have a new post. This is also possible if you create a new blog post, or add a new video to YouTube.

This way you don’t have to go and create schedules for all of them separately, but have one place to do it. You can even connect slack with Integromat and work from a central place to control all of this.

As you can see, the possibilities are endless, I am just scratching the surface here with what could be possible. The greatest thing is that Integromat can be combined with so many apps. And your business can only benefit from these automations. It can save you a significant amount of time and money. Besides, automations always work, day and night.
